The Bee Mobile Library

Even though we have 8 library locations throughout the county, it's a big county! Patrons in remote areas often find it difficult to visit the library. Now, more than ever, it’s important for us to be able to take library services to patrons, wherever they may be in the community. The Bee Mobile Library enables us to take our services on the road, “Pollinating the community with good things!”

Who does the mobile library serve?

The goal of the mobile library is to provide equitable access of library services to patrons of all ages throughout Ross County who might not otherwise be able to make it in to a brick-and-mortar library branch. The Outreach Department prioritizes providing library service to patrons who have limited mobility or live in a facility, but also participates in festivals, fairs, parades, and other community events as the schedule allows.

What can patrons do at a mobile library stop?

At a mobile library stop, you can sign up for a library card, browse, and check out library books, movies, magazines, and other materials. The Bee can also bring a pop-up computer lab and outdoor games and activities to locations throughout the county. Additionally, the Bee is equipped with WiFi access for visiting patrons to utilize.
